Strong link, stronger chain
April 1st 2005

Link 51 says its narrow aisle racking facility at Chassis Systems, Telford, maximises capacity, provides a choice of racking dimensions and accommodates weights of 1500kg.

Chassis Systems handles a long list of automotive parts primarily for Land Rover.

Housing components sourced from across Europe and in a range of configurations and sizes, the facility is dedicated to the storage of chassis equipment and is destined to hold in excess of 250,000 components by 2006.

The vast majority of stored items are held in a range of stillages designed to reflect each particular component and, in turn, the racking design has had to match this variation – providing the optimum blend between weight and capacity. The result is a racking layout of varying heights and dimensions – all of which has been specified to maximise the space available under the sloping roof of the building.

“We selected Link 51 on the basis of several important factors,” says James Marshall, Logistics Controller at Chassis Systems. “This included competitive pricing but we were also impressed by the company’s professional approach and evidence of previous successful installations.”
