Quick release belt bends
August 1st 2005

The quick release feature on Gramac powered belt bends from Quartz Systems enables two maintenance engineers to change a damaged or worn conveyor belt in less than 10 minutes.

This is particularly useful in keeping unplanned down time to a minimum in critical operations such as processing and packing.

Corner units and bends tend to need more frequent servicing than straight sections of conveyor. Most maintenance requires the removal of the belt from the rollers – often causing increased downtime.

The Gramac belt simplifies this process by releasing the guide wheel assembly along with the belt by loosening the locking bolts, allowing a vulcanized belt to be changed with speed. In the latest version of the belt, the process has been simplified by replacing the bolt locking system with an over-centre locking mechanism for even quicker separation of the track way parts.
