Think inside the box August 1st 2007 With the ongoing deluge this 'summer', Spaciotempo's latest product, the Ready Box,
comes to market with impeccable timing. The retractable, relocatable tunnel means
whatever the weather, work can carry on as usual
With Britain currently
experiencing some of the worst
weather conditions in decades,
the need to prevent damage to both people
and products has never been more critical.
And with little sign of a let up,
Spaciotempo says the launch of its Ready
Box range couldn't be more timely,
delivering both fast and highly costeffective
protection from rain, dust and
contamination.
Complementing Spaciotempo's existing
range of aluminium framed temporary
buildings, Ready Box is a specialised folding
modular tunnel, similar to the 'players
tunnels' seen at major football grounds but
designed specifically for industrial
applications.
Typical applications include cover for
loading and unloading areas and controlled
work environments, helping reduce costs
associated with damaged goods and
enabling even the most sensitive work to
be carried out in stable conditions. Ready
Box can also be used to provide highly
flexible overflow storage or temporary
workshop facilities.
The tunnels are manufactured with a
built-in tensioning system, so when cover is
not required they can be easily retracted to
the minimal overall dimensions. The space
saving structure can either be fixed with
bolts to external or internal walls or left free
standing. The track laid in the ground is
covered when the tunnel is retracted, giving
the user flexibility to use the area for other
activities when the tunnel is not required.
"Ready Box is unique in the UK market,
being both fully retractable and relocatable
yet robust enough to withstand the rigours
of an industrial environment," says
Spaciotempo managing director, Mark
Taylor. "As well as providing additional space
and protection, the ability to use the space
or stow it as required in line with day to day
requirements, enables our customers to
achieve optimum utilisation of their sites."
Custom-built to meet the specific
requirements of each application, the
Ready Box range is available in a choice of
four models with a maximum width of 12m
and height of 4m, making it large enough
to accommodate a lorry. Due to the
modular nature of the structure, the length
of the tunnel is unlimited.
The tunnels consist of anodised
aluminium frames, assembled with cast
aluminium joints and connected by
galvanised steel pantographs. Each arch is
equipped with two nylon wheels to ensure
that weight is evenly distributed and a lift
proof tracking system, ensuring the box
remains firmly secured to the ground.
Available in nine colour options, the units
also feature flame retardant PVC covers to
meet British Standard BS5438 and can be
open ended or supplied complete with
flame retardant sliding doors at one or both
ends.
"In addition to providing the ultimate in
flexible storage and cover, Ready Box can
be erected in one to three days depending
on the specification, making it the perfect
solution for minimising disruption in the
event of an emergency," adds Taylor.
"Spaciotempo is continually introducing
new innovations to meet the changing
needs of our customers and we firmly
believe that the launch of Ready Box
reinforces our position as the primary
specialist in the hire of temporary buildings
for any industrial application."
Following a merger combining the
expertise of three European specialists in
November 2006, Spaciotempo claims it is
now the global leader in the design,
manufacture, hire and sale of temporary
structures, helping customers costeffectively
grow their businesses and
accommodate periods of increased activity.
