Windsor Komatsu gets the drinks in
May 27th 2009 Windsor Komatsu and Access recently secured a prestigious five year contract with prestigious Calypso Soft Drinks.
The order was placed for two Komatsu FG30’s, three Komatsu FG25’s, four Komatsu FG18, two Komatsu FB15M three wheel electric counterbalance forklift trucks and four Komatsu warehouse machines.
Calypso Soft Drinks is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of children’s soft drinks such as Calypso, Aquajuice 67 and Jubbly.
 Going forward, Windsor Komatsu has been selected as preferred supplier for all Calypso's materials handling needs 
After initial consultation and a site survey it was deemed that the Komatsu FG30’s fitted with double pallet handlers were the appropriate trucks to enable the site to vastly decrease load times and reduce fuel consumption.
The main contributory factor here was Komatsu’s tandem hydraulic pump.
This, claims Windsor, gives the fastest lifting speeds in its class when idling, negating the need for high revving of the engine when lifting and stacking, producing substantial savings on fuel usage and emissions.
The FG18 Komatsu trucks were required for the drive in racking in the warehouse. These trucks were fitted with Davis Derby truck log systems and modified overhead guards to reduce operator damage.
Calypso chose Windsor Komatsu above alternative suppliers due to the professionalism and experience during negotiations, this provided a quick solution to the problem.
