Windsor partnership goes from strength to strength June 24th 2008 LPC Group PLC has recently placed an order for a further eight Komatsu LPG powered forklift trucks from Windsor Komatsu & Access.
LPC employs more than 800 staff, with the Head Office based in Leicester and manufacturing sites across Europe. The company is a leading manufacturer of household paper, toilet tissue, kitchen towel, facial tissues, napkins and table top products and in 2007 had a turnover in excess of £180 million.
Windsor has been supplying LPC for over 14 years, beginning with standard 1500kg capacity LPG counterbalance units. Due to the light weight of the finished product Windsor was able to recommend the use of double pallet handlers, which vastly increased the speed of pallet handling, including the loading of lorries.
In addition to this Windsor supplies larger capacity 4500kg machines fitted with bale clamps and tissue roll clamps for use in LPC's paper mills, which are the the most environmentally friendly in the UK.
This latest order, including five Komatsu BX50 machines, increases the total number of forklift trucks supplied to LPC to 50, all on a contract hire basis including full maintenance and backed up by dedicated on site engineers.
One of the benefits of the Komatsu BX50 range of forklifts is the tandem hydraulic pump, which gives the fastest lifting speeds in its class when idling. This can negate the need for high revving of the engine when lifting and stacking, giving massive savings on fuel usage and emissions.
"The long established partnership with Windsor continues to go from strength to strength. Windsor is a company that really understands our business and our materials handling needs. This coupled with its extremely high levels of service, minimizing downtime is why the partnership works so well," says Shiraz Dharamshi, President of LPC Group.
