Transnorm's creative diversion
June 1st 2006

Now an established part of the Transnorm range, the Transnorm SmartSort is a high speed divert/merge unit that is manufactured to divert or merge horizontally or vertically.

Units are in service all over Europe and a horizontal SmartSort has been running successfully at a major drinks manufacturer in the U.K. for the last twelve months.

Both units are capable of sorting from a mixed infeed, the horizontal SmartSort at 6000 units per hour and the vertical SmartSort at 3000 per hour.

Transnorm's philosophy with both units is to market them as complete 'plug and play' systems.

Both alternatives can be sold as a module, comprising intelligent queuing belts to ensure synchronisation between merging product.

Drives and controls form part of the module, which is fully wired using a bus system and includes a PLC which will interface with the clients system.

The SmartSort can identify and route items as small as 20mm high as 600mm.

Product footprint can range from 100mm x 200mm to 500mm to 800mm

The 'plug and play' feature of both the Transnorm horizontal and vertical SmartSort means that no expensive on site software engineering is required and the fully run and tested unit can be dropped into position and commissioned in a very short time.
