Speedier loading achieved with modular platform February 1st 2006 Reduced manual handling and speedier loading have been achieved by Johnson Hospitality Services with a purpose-designed sloping modular platform from Thorworld Industries.
The two section, 4000kg capacity loading platform has been supplied to the catering equipment supplier's Glasgow depot, which has an existing 1.4m high loading dock.
Previously, tables, chairs, glassware and other catering supplies had to be brought out of the warehouse by hand and placed on the yard floor for loading by forklift.
The platform has a 5m long by 2.3m wide ramp with an additional 2m long counterbalanced dock leveller that allows forklift trucks to easily load low floor vehicles ranging from 7.5 to 17.5t in size.
A spokesman for Johnson Hospitality said that loading was now far quicker, there were less manual handling issues and vehicle space was being better utilised.
