Picking efficiency improved October 1st 2005 When industrial supply specialist, Gleave, trebled storage capacity with a major warehouse expansion, Univeyor was approached to design and install an automated picking and storage system.
Univeyor put together a total solution for the project.
The ground floor was equipped with an infeed conveyor to other floors and a four-spur sortation system.
A reciprocating elevator was also installed, with an outfeed scanner mounted on the lift car. The two-tier mezzanine floors were both equipped with conveyors to handle outfeed from and infeed to other floors.
The efficiency of the picking process has been vastly improved by the Univeyor conveyor system.
Pickers can now retrieve all the products for an order in one trip, rather than making many trips back and forth to storage locations on different floors. More articles from Univeyor A/S: |
