Pallet inverter eliminates manual handling
October 1st 2004

Reacting to manual handling legislation and customer demand, Premier Pallet Systems has restyled and relaunched its Pallet Changer.

The criticism levelled at conventional pallet inverters has always been that if no forklift truck is available, the pallets have to be physically lifted on or off the top of the load. With some of the heavier pallets this can be a job for two people. Now, with the Pallet Changer working in combination with pallet dispensers, the whole operation can take place with no manual lifting at all. No one need lay a finger on the pallets.

Each Pallet Changer is individually designed to meet customer requirements of load heights and styles. After loading by pallet truck the product is clamped from the top, either squeezed or gently contained on the side and reclined backwards. The original pallet is gripped and returned to floor level where it can be exchanged by the pallet truck. The system then works in reverse, first reuniting the new pallet with the load, then returning it to the upright.

Premier offers two different styles of Pallet Stacker/Dispenser to complement the Changer. The Premstacker is a rugged and durable and available in 15 or 25 pallet versions, either semi or fully automated. The Palomat has a lighter construction, which is reflected in its competitive price.
