The tool for the job
August 1st 2005

An electric Bendi from Translift is helping Robson Tools keep up with rapid growth at its new 38,000ft2 Twyford warehouse.

Previously it had used a reach truck and two counterbalances – but these needed aisle widths of 2.6m and 3.6m respectively.

Robson’s local forklift dealer, Slough-based Rushlift, suggested the Bendi as it could easily meet the requirements of Robson’s 2m aisles and lift height requirements of 5m. Bendi can operate in aisles as narrow as 1.6m, and its articulated mast means it can stack on either side of the aisle.

After Robson had seen the Bendi in action at Heathrow it signed a five year contract with Rushlift, which includes maintenance. Initially apprehensive, Rolson drivers now love it, says warehouse manager, Sam Singh.

In addition to space savings, the Bendi is also flexible and around 20% faster than a reach truck, according to Translift.
