Scissor lift works its magic

Britannia lift has installed a large, high capacity scissor lift for Tile Magic, easing storage problems at the retailer’s Catford outlet.

Specified by Specialist Lift services of Sevenoaks, the lift is used to transport heavy pallets of ceramic tiles between the loading bay and shop floor of the warehouse, a task that had previously been carried out manually.

Of a bespoke design, the lift measures 1500 x 1300mm and has a 1500kg capacity. Safety features include safety mesh, handrails, interlocking safety gates and a mechanical wheel-stop.

Commenting on the new lift, Tile Magic store manager, Richard Ball said: "It saves us lots of man hours in loading and unloading and my staff are really pleased with it."
