Goods lift offers safety and endurance

Britannia Lift has installed a bespoke scissor type goods lift at Delta Galil Europe's Nottingham depot.

Used to safely and quickly transfer heavy air freight pallets from road going vehicles to a loading dock, the lift has a 4000mm by 2800mm working platform and a capacity of 3000kg. Its height can be adjusted according to the vehicle being unloaded. Pallets are passed over the lift and onto the loading dock on ball transfer units by operators on walkways either side of the working platform deck.

As well as endurance, safety was a key consideration and the lift has been designed to completely shed water. It also incorporates non-slip walkways. After installing the lift, Britannia's engineers ensured that all of the employees were trained in operating it safely.
