Gives goods and staff a lift August 1st 2005 European Conveyor Systems has installed two lifts designed for carrying goods and personnel together at a new 9000m2 DC opened by a leading mail order catering equipment supplier near Bristol.
Both lifts have a twotonne capacity, which allows loads weighing up to 1800kg and one passenger to be carried at a time, so they can be off-loaded as soon as they reach the right floor.
They can carry pallets or cages up to 1100mm wide x 1300mm deep x 2000mm high between the ground floor and three mezzanines at 3.6m, 7.2m and 10.8m. One of the lifts also has doors at 2.5m, 5m, 7.5m and 10m in readiness for four more mezzanines due to be added in the future.
The lifts operate within a prefabricated steel enclosure with an overall height of 13,600mm and do not require a pit. Each installation took seven days – needing no civil engineering work.
They are driven by an electric motor on top of the shaft and include parachute brakes, an internal control panel, battery back-up for lights and alarm, and light curtains on entrances.
ECS’ goods/passenger lifts are available with 1200kg and 2000kg load capacities and can incorporate up to six stopping places and 12 access points. Maximum lift dimensions are 2400mm wide x 2860mm deep x 2600mm high. They can operate up to 20m above the ground. More articles from European Conveyor Systems Ltd: |
