Bespoke cranes makejobs easier August 1st 2005 Technical Cranes says bespoke systems are gaining popularity. The company recently enabled Portal Limited to change all the glass throughout the central office of Columbia Picture Offices in Soho.
A scaffold was erected above the roof approximately 100ft high. Technical Cranes designed a light crane system that could lift glass in and out of the atrium with a height of lift of 100ft, which was suspended from the scaffold. It then transferred the glass from the underslung crane to a runway hoist which cantilevered out over the side of the building for lowering and lifting glass to the road side. Once the job was finished, the system was dismantled and removed.
All of the equipment was controlled using the latest Itowa R/C systems. |
