A-Plant adds vacuum lifters
December 1st 2005

Equipment rental company, A-Plant, has enhanced its fleet of hire equipment by taking delivery of over 150 vacuum lifting machines from Al-Vac UK.

A-Plant's new vacuum lifting machines provide a mechanical lifting force to enable fast and precise pickup and laying of kerbs and associated products. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has recently governed that kerbs should be handled and laid mechanically in order to avoid the risk of injury associated with the repetitive manual handling of kerbs.

The new consignment of Al-Vac equipment, delivered to A-Plant locations throughout the UK, comprises the Al-Vac Handyman, a battery operated vacuum lifting machine which can be used to lift items up to 160kg; the Al-Vac Handyman Mobile, a wheeled variant of the Handyman with a capacity of 160kg; and the Al-Vac 1600 Lux which also can be used to lift up to 160kg.

Also included in the order are the Al-Vac Handy, a petrol engined vacuum lifting machine with a lifting capacity of one tonne; and the Al-Vac Combat which is able to lift up to 500kg dependent on the type of vacuum head fitted.
