Pantograph for improved loading August 1st 2004 Extrusion manufacturer, Permacell Finesse, uses four Combilift multi-directional forklifts at its Essex site. The latest unit to be added to the fleet is fitted with a pantograph attachment to improve loading procedures of the finished product.
The Combilifts ability to work outside in all weather conditions, on gradients and uneven surfaces, has enabled Permacell to install racking along external walls and store pre-production stillages of PVC-U to heights of 7.5m. Aisle widths have also been reduced as the truck can transport the 6m stillages in sideways mode, resulting in a 25% saving in space.
Using the truck fitted with a pantograph is reported to have significantly reduced damage to the delivery fleets. Damage to stillages and the finished product associated with the old method of pushing the load to the rear of the truck has also been eradicated. More articles from Combilift Limited: |
