Fleet for in-house distribution
October 1st 2004

When producer of Crayola wax crayons, Binney & Smith, brought its warehousing and distribution operation in-house it selected Barloworld Handling to supply a new fleet of Hyster 1500kg and 2000kg capacity LPG lift trucks, Hyster Matrix reach trucks, Hyster Spectrum pedestrian powered truck and a Geni scissor lift.

The distribution centre is spilt into high and low bay operations. In the high bay area pallets typically weighing up to 750kg each are handled by Matrix R2.0H reach trucks. These are fitted with colour monitors and camera mounted on the Kooi forks to enable the correct positioning of loads, thus minimising damage.

In the low bay bulk storage area, the H1.50XMs despatch pallets for onward distribution.
