Solves space, productivity, health and safety issues
February 1st 2004

When oil industry service providers, Baker Atlas, needed to handle extremely long down-hole tools in a restricted storage area it turned to Combilift to provide a solution.

The basic requirement was for a forklift capable of manoeuvring eight metre long baskets of incoming tubulars, weighing 4.5t, through a narrow entrance into refurbishment facilities. Once inside, the tubulars are individually craned out of the baskets. For conventional forklifts, the crane supports and stanchions present further limitations to access around the building due to their close proximity to the walls.

As soon as we saw a demonstration of the Combilift we could see that this truck would be ideal in solving issues of space, productivity and health and safety, said warehouse manager, Jim Will.
