Purpose-built flameproof range April 1st 2007 Sichelschmidt developed its first explosion-proof forklift in 1960 for a German chemical company, and is now a market leader of purpose-built rather than converted flameproof forklifts. It also offers a range of standard forklifts. Sichelschmidt's flameproof range encompasses a wide variety of battery electric ride-on and pedestrian trucks, all fully compliant with the ATEX directives, fully CE marked and available as Category 2G/2D for Zones 1/21 and 2/22, and as 3G/3D for Zone 2/22 only. At IMHX, Sichelschmidt showed the revised d1200 EEx Zone 2 pedestrian reach truck model with 1250kg capacity and a 2000kg capacity d100 EEx Zone 1 pedestrian pallet truck. Each of these is available as either a Zone1 or 2 model or non-flameproof. Benefits of Sichelschmidt's Flameproof by Design range include ease of operation and reduced maintenance costs. Absolute reliability is ensured by the use of ASM AC drive technology as standard, which incorporates brushless AC motors for drive, steering and lift functions, and solid-state contactor-free control systems. A further benefit is high energy recovery and power retention. More articles from Sichelschmidt AG: |
