Robust, reliable reach truck

Following a review of its materials handling fleet, Meller Home & Beauty called on Barloworld Handling to supply six Hyster matrix 1600kg capacity reach trucks.

Working to strict order plans and stacking up to 9m meant a robust, reliable reach truck was required.

‘We looked at a number of reach trucks but after numerous demos chose the Hyster R1.6 as the operators found it very comfortable,’ said logistics manager, Nigel Baker.

‘Also the maintenance-free batteries were a bonus as we use agency staff during our periods of peak demand.’ Other features include AC motor technology for faster cycle times, shorter braking distances and fast acceleration to top speed. The height pre-select option is also particularly useful in this application where stacking takes place up to 9m high.
