Pallet storage maximised December 1st 2004 When marketing fulfilment company, Two Ten Communications needed to maximise the pallet capacity of its 70,000ft2 warehouse in Wetherby in 2001, it re-equipped the building on a partial VNA system served by two Narrow Aisle Flexi trucks. As a result the capacity of the warehouse was increased by over 18% to 6500 pallets.
Following further growth, last year the company opened a new warehouse with a further 15,000 pallet spaces. The success of the original operation meant the Flexi was first choice for the new facility.
The building has 2.2m wide aisles and 10m high racking. The company opted for a new Flexi Generation 3 to meet greater lifting heights and take advantage of its CCTV option.
The articulated design of the Flexi means it can operate in aisles as narrow as 1800mm and lift loads to 2000kg without any special floor requirements. It can lift to heights of 11m, with no need for additional guidance systems. More articles from Narrow Aisle Limited: |
