Lighting the way April 1st 2007 Exhibiting for the first time at the IMHX Show, Ocme demonstrated one of its new Auriga Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs). The model on display is being supplied to Bulmers of Ireland, where it will be used to deliver pallets of packaging materials to its new high speed bottling lines for Magners Cider. The LGV will pick pallets of cardboard blanks from storage racks and deliver them to Ocme's high speed case packers. The automatic LGV will replace the operation presently carried out by forklift trucks This application is just one example of the use of LGV's to automate the handling of palletised loads, tote bins, paper reels, etc. Automatic LGVs can perform routine tasks that are normally carried out by fork-lift and clamp trucks. LGV applications include: transferring loads from production lines to the warehouse transferring materials from the warehouse to production lines managing warehouse storage transferring loads from the warehouse to the truck loading area. |
