Corus of approval for Combilift April 1st 2007 Corus has taken a 12t capacity Combilift 4-way forklift at its Rotherham plant to handle increasingly large products. The diesel powered truck has replaced a combination of a sideloader and narrow aisle electric truck, handling engineered steel bars (as long as 10.5m and weighing up to 10 tonnes) throughout the offloading, storing and cutting process, eventually loading cut to size product for delivery to end customers. It now works around the clock, shifting around 100 tonnes of stock per day. Warehouse supervisor, Ted Nind, says the Combilift's versatility and manoeuvrability has made life easier: "There's no way a conventional sideloader would be able to manoeuvre in some of the racking we have here."
