Caravan facility keeps a safe berth August 1st 2007 Atlas Caravans has been
able to cut the number of
forklift trucks operating at
its manufacturing facility
while at the same time
improving handling and
storage procedures and
introducing better health
and safety practices, by
investing in six Combilift 4-
way trucks. Four 4t and two
3t capacity diesel powered
Combilifts were supplied by
local materials handling
specialists Malcolm West
Forktrucks.
The Combilifts are used
as a universal handling tool
throughout the
manufacturing process,
initially offloading
continuous deliveries of
very long packs of timber
and melamine flooring,
handling 6m lengths of
aluminium, manoeuvering
semi-finished caravans,
components, and
completed caravan chassis
around the site, and
handling left over waste
material. Due to the
dimensions of the products
handled, two of the 4ft
trucks have been fitted with
telescopic forks, and the
other two 4t Combilifts
have removable fork
extensions. More articles from Combilift Limited: |
