Aisle-master proves good all-rounder October 1st 2006 Dublin and North East Ireland Scania dealers, McElvaney Motors, has taken delivery of an Aisle-Master articulated forklift to cope with the growth of its sister operation, Truck Dismantlers Ireland.
At Truck Dismantlers Ireland, trucks are dismantled at a rate of one per day on a "de-assembly" line, and practically every component is then reused.
"Due to rapid expansion, we needed to adopt a much more rationalised approach to the storage and handling of the volume and varying sizes of components we deal with," said MD Adrian McElvaney. "An all-round forklift that would work indoors and out was vital as well as manoeuvrability and ability to cope with the ramps and gradients in the yard."
Aisle-Master's expertise in warehouse layout design was also useful. The system now in place incorporates racking with varying aisle-widths together with an LPG powered articulated Aisle-Master fitted with a 3-way catalytic converter, a 4.7m triplex mast with side shift and an enclosed cab for more comfortable outdoor operation. The Aisle- Master is also used for offloading and loading, proving itself to be a universal machine.
The Aisle-Master range will work in aisles of 1.75m, has lift capacities of 2t, with reach heights of up to 11.5 m, in LPG and electric. More articles from Aisle-Master Ltd: |
