Premium forklift seat relieves strain
February 1st 2006

Horst Mohaupt works for a German door manufacturer.

A forklift operator for 25 years, he has recently had a Primo XM chair from Grammer fitted to his truck.

The Primo is said to be the first compact seat with low-frequency pneumatic suspension, which protects the back more effectively from unpleasant jolts. A lumber support holds the back in its natural position, helping to prevent damage to the spinal disks. An integrated backrest extension enables quick adjustment to the operator's size and work situation.

Since using the Primo, Mohaupt reports that his body has been significantly relieved of strain. "Thanks to the lumbar support, I don't notice my back after quitting in the evening anywhere near as much as before.

Another important thing for me is that I have no problem at all turning my upper body around in the seat."

The Primo has an asymmetrical backrest that is tapered on the right hand side to give the operator enough room to turn around, for example when driving backwards.

The asymmetric backrest contour also provides the necessary support for this.
