Why waste space? August 1st 2005 Trailer manufacturer Dennison Trailers, which has sites in Lancaster and also in Naas in Ireland, has doubled storage capacity at its Irish parts division using an LPG Aisle-Master.
Dynamic expansion led to rapid growth at Dennison’s fast parts division, consequently the Naas warehouse was at full capacity. Relocating was not an option and parts manager John Browne sought to avoid the time and cost implications of extending the site – so he approached Aisle Master in a bid to streamline materials handling.
Dennison had previously used a reach truck which needed 3m aisle widths and struggled with outdoor offloading. However, with an Aisle-Master it was possible to double storage density by reducing aisle widths between racks by 50%. “We needed a quick solution that would increase storage with minimal disruption,” says Browne.
“And we have added value by the fact the Aisle-Master can also work in the yard.” More articles from Aisle-Master Ltd: |
