Search for electric trucks ends with LPG models December 1st 2004 Despite initially setting out to hire three-wheel electric forklifts, vehicle component specialist Britax PMG opted to go for two four-wheel LPG units instead – thanks to the new flagship Mitsubishi N series.
As so much of the handling was carried out indoors, engine fumes needed to be avoided and electric trucks seemed the only option.
However, Local Mitsubishi dealer, MH Industrial, showed that the power, speed and flexibility of an IC engine truck could be enjoyed without ruining air quality.
As well as the low emission levels, Britax was particularly impressed by the comfortable ergonomic seating position of the N series, which features an extensive package of safety features. Another benefit is the trucks’ compact dimensions that, together with the use of low masts, mean they can fit through the small entrance to Britax’s premises.
While signing up for the two FG18Ns on contract hire, Britax also decided to replace its ailing reach truck with a reconditioned Mitsubishi RBK reach truck. |
