Nissan: Life gets better at 50

Speaking as Nissan celebrates 50 years of forklift manufacture, UK md, Brendon Sparks, says the best is yet to come – characterised by its acquisition of Atlet.

Targeting the 180,000 strong European warehouse market, Sparks says the intention is to retain separate brand identities: "Little overlap makes for a perfect fit," he says. "Both businesses will benefit from our automotive business." Car sales helped Nissan achieve the bulk of its €5.25bn operating profit last year. Sparks says the crossover technologies – developments engines in fuel efficiency, exhaust emissions, noise and vibration – will help reduce operating costs across counterbalance and warehouse ranges.
