Barloworld takes the biscuit at Campbells
August 1st 2006

Campbells Shortbread, the oldest bakery in Scotland, has been operating a new state-of-the-art Hyster Fortens H1.6FT-A lift truck supplied by Barloworld Handling.

Although it is not a heavyduty application the lift truck still plays a vital part in the day to day operation of the bakery. It is used to unload raw materials and take them to the bakery. Finished product is then stored in the warehouse on pallets in racking up to 6m high. The final use is to load lorries for despatch all over the country, a total of around 60 pallets per week.

The new Fortens H1.6FTA, 1600kg capacity, LPG powered lift truck has many features that have made life more comfortable for the operators at Campbells. The H1.6FT-A has access via a 3- point entry with a non-slip step only 37cm from the ground. Within the truck the horn button is now situated on the overhead guard so it is easier to use when reversing.

Other features include an adjustable armrest with Touchpoint mini-levers.
