Vital battery availability provided

Ford Motor Company has specified Hawker batteries for the upgraded electric truck fleet at its Bridgend engine manufacturing facility. Hawker has also supplied energy efficient high frequency chargers, interfacing with a battery management system to ensure all batteries are correctly charged and rotated.

Hawker PerfectPlus batteries are used in counterbalance trucks, tow tugs and custom built transporters that supply components to the engine assembly lines.

In this intensive JIT operation, battery availability is critical. The PerfectPlus battery has been designed specifically for heavy duty applications, providing increased capacity in compact dimensions giving a higher running time between charges. The batteries supplied are also fitted with Hawkers Aquamatic system for rapid, accurate automatic top up.
