Hawker empowers Linde’s HQ February 1st 2005 EnerSys Motive Power – suppliers of the Hawker brand of systems and equipment – has installed a custom-designed battery charging facility for Linde Materials Handling South East’s new 5000m2 complex in Camberley, Surrey.
According to Hawker, the system has greatly reduced the space needed for battery charging – and has cut the number of chargers required by 40 per cent.
EnerSys has equipped the charging bay with its latest Hawker Powertech High Frequency single and three phase chargers which maintain the battery charge on Linde’s substantially increased stock of hire and refurbished trucks, and on those used in a new operator training facility.
“We chose the Hawker system because of the ability of the Powertech charger, in its various forms, to handle batteries of different capacities and voltages. The charger is also capable of being easily programmed for different battery technologies,“ says Linde spokesperson Richard Jefferies.
Previously LMH South East had used chargers from another major supplier, but needed 20 of them to cover all different battery capacities and voltages on its hire truck fleet. Only 12 Hawker PowerPlus chargers are needed to give the same service. “It’s a far better arrangement,” concludes Jefferies. More articles from Enersys Motive Power: |
