Energy gain with CMP's CSM
February 1st 2007

Chloride Motive Power will be exhibiting its CSM battery technology on stand 19L110 at IMHX.

The 'Copper Stretched Metal' battery is part of the 'Classic' range, but incorporates a negative copper expanded metal grid design – allowing improved performance over other traditional vented lead acid batteries.

The battery has been specifically designed for use during heavy-duty warehouse operations involving high currentdraw applications, including high bay reach trucks, VNAs and bigger counterbalance.

The biggest benefit brought by the technology is reported to be the significant energy gain when compared with standard batteries.

Tests have shown that the CSM batteries provide an overall improvement in performance. This includes 5% gain whilst driving, a 6.5% energy increase during acceleration and 8.5% improvement in power during lifting operations.

The CSM batteries have the same dimensions and weight as standard batteries but offer a substantially longer operating life.
