Batteries that stand the cold
April 1st 2007

Selecting high performance Hawker EnerSys batteries and chargers for the warehouse truck fleet at its new Prime Point distribution centre has provided leading Culina Logistics with an efficient solution to its power source requirements. The batteries provide reliable power in an extremely busy and potentially arduous chilled environment while ancillary equipment such as chargers and changers occupies minimum floor space and supports best practice to promote safety and eliminate manual handling.

As providers of total supply chain solutions for chilled food and drink manufacturers, Culina Logistics operates three of the most hi-tech temperature controlled distribution centres in the country.

Its network provides 41,340m2 (445,000ft2) of chilled storage with over 44,000 pallet spaces and over 3,000 pick locations.

"It can be very hard on trucks and batteries in this type of environment but they've not let us down," says Ian Barton, of Culina.
