Tipping skip works to keep furniture waste clear April 1st 2008 Contact Attachments
specialises in material
handling equipment and
offers a range of tipping
skips designed to fit onto
the front of any forklift
truck. The skips can also be
strategically placed to allow
clear working areas.
The company was recently
contacted by First Fruit
Warehouse, a charity set up
in partnership with Green-
Works to store, re-cycle and
sell office furniture. The
furniture is supplied by large
corporate donors and is then
sold on at affordable prices
to charities, churches,
schools and the local
community. The company
also offers disadvantaged
people the chance to gain
real work experience.
"The job we carry out
naturally generates a certain
amount of woods and metal
waste," explains Christopher
Butt, warehouse operations
manager for First Fruit
Warehouse. "We used to
have to manually handle this
waste until we purchased a
Contact tipping skip. Now
the waste can be collected
easily and safely tipped at
any height into our large
container without risk of
injury to any of our staff.
"We are pleased that we
were able to offer a product
that benefits such a socially
enterprising company," says
Tracy Gillett from Contact.
"We also included pull cord
assemblies on the skips to
allow staff to tip skips at
height from ground level." More articles from Contact Attachments: |
