Bendi provides flexibility
April 1st 2006

Based in Northampton, Lindab's national distribution distribution hub was purpose built with Translift Bendi forklifts in mind.

The new warehouse replaces three smaller facilities that had wide aisle operation using counterbalanced and reach trucks.

For the new warehouse Lindab looked at VNA trucks before choosing Bendi.

The two trucks on site work an intensive 10hr shift, unloading lorries and lifting loads to 8m with a special mast and extra long forks. A laser height selector is a considerably cheaper option that a vision-based system.

Rated to raise 1050kg to 7.7m, the trucks work in aisles 2.1m wide, compared with the 3m aisles the company previously worked with. This means Lindab has achieved maximum storage density in its warehouse. The Bendis also improve manoeuvrability when handling 5m long loads through a 3m door.
