Affordable wireless devices for the warehouse
February 1st 2004

Working with ODM partners in the Far East, BlueSky Wireless has launched a range of wireless devices at, says the company, a fraction of the cost of existing known brands.

Reported to be making a strong impact on the warehousing and retail sector, BlueSky has released two new products the X-PDA 6000 portable data collection terminal and the X-PAD 500.

The X-PDA 6000 incorporates an Intel X-Scale 400MHz processor, Li-Polymer battery and high visibility TFT colour screen, which reads well outside and indoors. Coupled with Microsoft CE.NET 4.2, up to 128MB SDRAM, integrated barcode scanning technology and network links via integrated 802.11, Bluetooth or GSM/GPRS, it can be used in a wide range of sectors. Its IP54 rating means it is suitable for almost any environment.

The X-PAD 500 mobile terminal has been designed specifically for use in harsh environments, such as warehouses. All internal components are mounted to withstand multiple drops and the unit is sealed against the ingress of dust and fluids. When used with its forklift truck mounting kit, the X-PAD 500 can be easily removed and used independently thanks its internal battery.
