Apparel RFID centre opens June 1st 2007 Three RFID pioneers have
opened an Apparel RFID
solution centre in Lahti,
Finland, to show how the
technology can improve
supply chain management
and in-store operations for
garment manufacturers,
brand owners, retailers and
logistics providers.
According to the companies
– ADT, Salpomec and UPM
Raflatac – the centre brings
together all elements of an
RFID enabled supply chain to
demonstrate a complete
end-to-end solution. This
includes source tagging,
automatic goods reception,
an RFID-based sorting
system, replenishment and
store inventory
management and POS
analytics and security.
"By hosting visits to the
centre, we can show that
the most advantageous
point in the supply chain to
attach a tag to a garment is
the manufacturing stage,"
says Samuli Strömberg of
UPM Raflatac. "In this way it
can include information for
the whole supply chain from
the beginning, bringing
value to all parties in the
chain." More articles from ADT Fire & Security plc: |
