Stacking up safely is within reach February 1st 2008 Barloworld Handling has
supplied Tyne Logistics
Company with two new
Hyster H10.00XM-12EC
empty container handlers
and a new Hyster RS46-36CH
reachstacker to complement
two that they already have.
About eight container
vessels a week arrive at the
container terminal from
Felixstowe and Rotterdam.
These are unloaded onto
trailers by a gantry crane and
taken to the 6.9 hectare
Terminal that has capacity for
3200 TEU, of which over 800
are empty. The terminal is
run at near to 91% capacity
as possible to allow for any
unexpected movement.
Once delivered to the
terminal the containers are
then stacked in the
appropriate area. Laden
containers weighing up to
35,000kg are stacked up to
four high to the second row
by one of the three
dedicated Hyster
reachstackers. The empty
containers weighing up to
4,000kg are stacked three
high up to 9000mm by the
H10.00XM-12EC empty
container handlers.
Both the reachstackers and
empty container handlers
feature class leading lift
speeds of 0.41m/sec and
0.51m/sec. Visibility has been
greatly improved through
wide spaced rear boom
supports, the sloping
contours of the
counterweight and a
powered forward sliding
Hyster Vista cab. More articles from Barloworld Handling Ltd: |
