Devkits for compact mobile equipment

A new range of Software Development Kits, or devkits, is now available for a range of mobile operating systems to enable printing functions for Citizen Systems Europe's range of portable and mobile printers.

The SDKs are provided for mobile OS such as Android, Blackberry, Windows Mobile and Symbian, enhancing the capability and flexibility of Citizen printers through inexpensive mobile devices.

Currently, iOS devices such as the iPhone are locked by Apple's design, making Bluetooth communication more complex, but Citizen is working with a number of VARs to assist in additional development routes.

Introduction of the SDKs allows for the creation of multi-platform applications that can now be integrated into mobile data capture and output systems, using standard wireless communication or USB connections to other equipment such as Citizen printers.
