Benefits of new print technology December 1st 2005 The use of digital thermal ink jet (TIJ) technology has provided a fast, convenient and effective alternative to embossing for the in-line printing of variable data on to blister packs and folding cartons at Aventis Pharma.
The company's nine blister pack lines at it Frankfurt factory use Wolke m600 printers, which are available in the UK from Sunala.
Traditionally Aventis has used embossed codes. In comparison, the m600 offers improved legibility of variable data and faster and more flexible product changeovers. It also uses sensors to automatically verify that the data has been printed on every pack.
The bleed-resistant, environmentally friendly water-based ink ensures readability of the codes, which are printed at 300dpi. More articles from Sunala Ltd: |
