Communicate in noisy areas

Swedish hearing protector products manufacturer, Peltor, says communication in noisy environments is made easier with its new licence-free radio headsets.

Two new models are available: the Lite-Com basic and the Lite-Com III.

The Lite-Com Basic, says Peltor, is very easy to use. All communication radio functions are controlled by three simple buttons.

Volume, channel settings and other adjustments are confirmed with a voice message in the headset, so the wearer doesn’t need to risk hearing damage by removing the headset to check settings.

The Lite-Com III is a hearing protector with a built-in communication radio, but it also has an electronic active-volume feature. The headset has microphones on the outside, which capture ambient sound and reproduce it in the earphones. Electronic mechanisms in the hearing protector attenuate loud impulse noises to a harmless level, while allowing operators to communicate with colleagues without compromising on hearing protection.

The communication radio in the Lite-Com III comes in two versions: An 8-channel version for the 446 MHz band, where each channel has 38 sub-channels, or a 69- channel version for the 433 MHz band, with a lower output effect. Both are licence-free in most European countries.
