Ultra fast laser measurement December 1st 2004 With an increased range of 300m, the latest version of Sick’s ultra fast DME 5000 Laser Measurement System is claimed to be ideal for all types of storage and retrieval systems, transfer systems and overhead gantry cranes.
By measuring the time taken for a reflected light beam to return from a fixed position, the DME 5000 is able to precisely determine the position and speed of mobile automated handling devices.
Three distance ranges are available to suit virtually any automated handling application.
Rated IP65 as standard, it can also handle arduous environments, while an internal heating option allows operation in temperatures as low as -40°C.
Millisecond measurement cycles mean the DME 5000 can cope with approach speeds up to 10m/sec. More articles from Erwin Sick Ltd: |
