New precision distance measuring device
February 1st 2007

Through the use of laser technology, Leuze Mayser's new AMS 200 distance measurement device achieves a hitherto unattainable accuracy of ±3mm over the measuring distance of 200m.

Optical distance measurement based on the light propagation principle using redlight laser is a triedand- tested method for permanent position sensing of moving plant and machine parts. The new AMS200 (Absolute Measuring System 200) claims to set new higher standards in positioning control, data transparency, handling and design, bringing improved repeatability and accuracy over longer distances.

The technology that makes the AMS 200 such a precision piece of engineering is contained in a modern housing design that contributes to easier installation, whether new or retrofit.

The front-mounted display panel shows actual measuring values, set parameters or warning messages. Directly alongside the display are four menu selection buttons for greater convenience during initial set-up procedures including precise alignment.
