Pallets for medical giant get treatment June 1st 2006 Staff at Beverley based Capital Pallet Solutions (CPS) are celebrating a significant account win that will see them delivering up to 500 specialist pallets each week to medical device giant Smith & Nephew.
The pallets selected by Smith & Nephew have been given a specialist heat treatment to ensure the wood carries no harmful bacteria, which could affect the medical products, which will be stored on them.
The pallets, which are also Forestry Commissionregulated, will journey across the globe carrying Smith and Nephew's products as this specialist treatment allows the pallets to travel to Asia, Africa and the Americas with the medical supplies and not become contaminated in any way.
Capital Pallet Solutions, which trades in the town's Annie Reed Road business park, is delighted to have been selected by the medical company as it proves it's logistical solutions are head and shoulders above the rest.
Dave Atkinson, Managing Director of CPS, believes the contract will help the company attract big business from across the UK and beyond as Smith & Nephew's endorsement confirms that pallets from CPS are some of the best in the world. |
