Saving dough on pastry distribution October 1st 2004 Canterbury Foods is benefiting from Teacrates managed crate rental and washing service at its chilled pastry products factory at Brymenyn.
More than 50% of the 27t daily output is fresh pastry which is difficult to pack into cardboard boxes as it sticks to cardboard and is easily damaged.
Teacrates bakers crate provided the solution. It is easy to carry and provides protection for delicate pastry products. Thirty crates stack on a single pallet, maximising space in the distribution vehicle.
Full containers are delivered from Brymenyn to processing sites, where the previous days empty crates are picked up and taken to the washing plant. Sufficient washed crates are then taken back to Canterbury Foods factory. The quantity delivered can fluctuate by 20% without penalty. |
