Meachers expands and wins contracts
June 1st 2005 Meachers Group Holdings has won the contract to manage daily distribution of full artic loads for Beiersdorf UK – manufacturers of Nivea, Atrixo, Eucerin and Elastoplast – from its central distribution centre in Birmingham to customers throughout the UK.
The Derby and Southampton-based logistics provider will transport up to three full loads a day to major RDCs and wholesalers as well as undertake a local shunt to a major grocery retail multiple consolidation centre, 30 miles away.The win is one of a number landed by Meachers following substantial recent investment: moving to a new purpose-built facility in Derby and investing over half a million pounds in new vehicles and trailers.
