Electric site transport
April 1st 2005

A fleet of nine, twoseat flatbed site transporters from Bradshaw Electric Vehicles has been chosen by Alcan Smelting and Power UK for its Lynemouth smelting plant in Northumbria.

Flatbeds were chosen to allow for the wide range of goods transported.

Production staff use the vehicles to collect process samples from the third of a mile long production lines, while maintenance teams rely on the fleet for plant access, carrying equipment such as welding sets, tools and spare parts.

“We liked the tough chassis and build quality of Bradshaw’s FB2 and FB3 flatbeds with load carrying capacity of up to 2.5 tonnes and we also liked the backup service and support from Bradshaw and the on-site maintenance service we could get from regional maintainers, Finning Materials Handling,” says Dave Plews, Alcan’s garage maintenance engineer for the site.
