Protection for high value items in transit February 1st 2004 Parcel carrier, Parceline, is extending its swapit one-to-one goods exchange service to accommodate larger items including laptops and computer goods, thanks to the versatility of Linpac Materials Handling containers.
Originally developed by Parceline for the mobile phone industry, the swapit service provides a secure and reliable way for customers to return goods and receive replacements at their home or place of work.
When it became apparent there was scope for collection and delivery of other goods, Parceline approached Linpac to provide a container solution suitable for larger items.
Now in use at 38 Parceline depots nationwide, the containers are delivered to Parcelines customers where they are packed for onward delivery to the end customer who signs for the contents before replacing it with the equipment to be returned.
Every stage of the process is scanned to ensure traceability, with different coloured security tags applied to the container lids on outward and return journeys to chart the progress of each swapit consignment.
In addition to offering protection for high value items, the Linpac swapit containers can be securely stacked in transit and nested to save space when empty. More articles from Linpac Materials Handling: |
