Quiet and hygienic plastic roll cage February 1st 2006 Manchester-based rollet has developed a moulded plastic roll cage to replace noisy and potentially unhygienic metal ones. The product, which is made from recyclable plastic and contains a minimum of 20% post-consumer waste, has no cracks, crevices or sharp edges and so leaves nowhere for bacteria to form.
As well as proving popular in hospitals, rollet is also winning a place in the automotive industry as a replacement for damaging metal roll cages. Car parts and accessories can now be stored and transported safely and securely.
The unit is more than a third lighter than conventional alternatives and is said to perform more efficiently.
According to the company, thanks to the lesser weight, each trailer load is reduced by over a tonne - decreasing fuel and maintenance costs.
As it is made from moulded plastic and has no metal parts, the rollet is also very easy to keep clean and can be spray cleaned, preventing bacteria.
rollet can be colour coordinated to match branding or to differentiate between products. It is easily tracked with RFID and is fully compliant with impending EU environmental legislation, being totally recyclable.
